LEO the automatic office (1957)
A gathering at the Science Museum tomorrow will celebrate the 60th birthday of LEO, the world’s first business computer, which crunched its first numbers on November 17, 1951. Today computing breakthroughs are made by highly-specialised technology firms, but LEO was created by J Lyons and Co, operator of tea shops, manufacturer of biscuits and founder of the Wimpy burger chain.

Full Tilt poker site a ‘massive Ponzi scheme’
Online poker site Full Tilt Poker informed its players that funds were safe and available for withdrawal, when in fact the money was being used to finance a “massive Ponzi scheme”, this as alleged by US Attorney Preet Bharara. Funds were being used to make massive payments to celebrity players and the board it was further alleged.
